Quick install lay-in tile speaker for suspended ceilings features premium 6 in. 40W coaxial driver, 70V transformer, fine perforation grille, and .8 cu.ft. enclosure. Patented 1x2 assembly with integral T-bar quickly replaces half a non-tegular (2x2) ceiling tile. U.S. patents 7120269, D467579, 7643647.

ASSEMBLY INCLUDES

  • Driver (6A40):  6 in. 40W coaxial driver with 10 oz. LF magnet and 2 oz. HF magnet has frequency response of 40Hz-20kHz (±8dB) and 40Hz–20kHz (nominal) and average sensitivity of 87dB (1W/1M). Smooth sound reproduction.
  • Transformer:  70V transformer with primary taps at 1, 2, 4, 8W
  • Enclosure (.8 cu.ft.):  Steel backbox with 1.5 in. thick acoustic lining. Driver leads exit through metal clamp.
  • Grille with Subplate (1 x 2):  Fine-perforation grille provides maximum free-air space for excellent sound transmission while maintaining an unobtrusive appearance in new or existing tile ceilings. White.
  • Mounting Aids:  Patented integral T-bar to support neighboring non-tegular ceiling tile. Restraint tab and hole for two-cable code compliance (cables not included).

A&E SPECIFICATIONS

  • The lay-in tile speaker system for suspended ceilings shall be Lowell Model No. LT- 6A-T870-VB. It shall include a 6 inch coaxial driver with transformer, 0.8 cu.ft. enclosure and 1'x 2' grille mounted to a sub-plate. It shall replace half of a non-tegular 2'x2' tile or one-fourth of a non-tegular 2'x4' tile and shall include an integral T-Bar to support the adjacent cut tile. The steel grille shall have a white powder epoxy finish and fine perforation pattern. The steel backbox shall have a black finish and 1.5 inch thick fiberglass lining. The 6 inch 40W coaxial driver shall have a 10 oz. magnet, frequency response of 40Hz–20kHz (±8dB) and 40Hz–20kHz (nominal), and average sensitivity of 87dB (1W/1M). Driver connections shall exit the enclosure through a metal clamp. The 70V factory-mounted transformer shall have taps at 1, 2, 4, 8W.
